About The Position
Seeking a Sports Medicine Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Cape Girardeau, MO. This role involves providing outpatient clinic care for sports medicine patients for 2.5 days per week and performing orthopedic surgical procedures in the OR for 2.5 days per week. The physician will also be responsible for taking beeper call for sports medicine emergencies, with support from an Advanced Practice Provider (APP). This is a supplemental coverage position for an ongoing period starting October 1, 2026.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- MO license or Universal License (IMLC)
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- ATLS certification
- Ability to perform Arthroscopy
- Ability to perform Total Joint replacement (Hip, Knee)
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient clinic care for sports medicine patients (2.5 days per week)
- Perform orthopedic surgical procedures in the OR (2.5 days per week)
- Take call for sports medicine emergencies with APP support
- Manage patient care across both clinic and surgical settings
- Collaborate with advanced practice provider on shared call coverage
