Sports Mat Painter (1st Shift)
About The Position
Dollamur is a growing company seeking detail-conscious and dedicated individuals to join our Art Department team as Sports Mat Painters. This role involves hand-painting logos, designs, and letters on large-scale sports mats. While no prior experience is needed as training will be provided, a desire for creativity and dedication to being a successful part of the team is essential. The company aims to build skills and promote employees within their first year. Dollamur is the worldwide leading manufacturer of sports mats for various disciplines and events, known for its quality, culture, and industry leadership. The company is expanding with a new facility and seeks reliable individuals who enjoy a team-driven culture.
Requirements
- Ability to work on your feet and knees, bend, stoop, and lift consistently for all scheduled hours.
- Ability to manipulate and move material weighing up to 100 lbs. either rolling, lifting, or using a hand cart.
- Must use eyes to focus on color-matching art placement and quality of the product.
- Ability to speak, read & write in English.
- Willing to work OT and/or some weekends as required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with skilled labor (construction, woodworking, etc.).
- Experience using hand-cutting tools, tape measure, and straight edge.
- Detail-oriented.
- Good with measurements.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-starter; flexible, steady hands.
Responsibilities
- Hand painting logos, designs, and letters on large-scale mats.
- Preparing painting surfaces for customized artwork.
- Putting rolls together properly and checking for defects.
- Learning to read and understand layouts with artist assistance.
- Translating information to decorate mats.
- Ensuring attention to all detail impacting the mat, including dimensions, logo reproduction, location, and sizing.
- Material handling: moving rolls, putting mats down, and picking them up when complete.
- Preparing rolls for packaging.
- Frequently kneeling/crawling on a mat while painting logos, measuring, and cutting.
