About The Position

Urban Rec Okanagan is seeking an energetic, organized, and outgoing League Operations & Community Coordinator to manage their coed adult sports leagues, tournaments, and special events throughout the Okanagan. This role focuses on creating positive experiences for participants by ensuring smooth operations, supporting volunteers, and fostering a fun, social atmosphere. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced social settings, has a passion for sports culture, and excels at problem-solving.

Requirements

• Comfortable leading staff and volunteers
• Passionate about sports and community recreation
• Strong with communication and conflict resolution
• Available mainly evenings and some weekends
• Able to travel between Okanagan venues
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office, email, and social media

Nice To Haves

• Experience in adult sport leagues
• Event coordination experience
• Community recreation or sport management background
• Experience supervising staff or volunteers

Responsibilities

• Lead league and tournament operations at assigned venues
• Train and support onsite supervisors
• Ensure equipment, first aid, and facilities are game-ready
• Help manage schedules, standings, team balancing, and reseeding
• Support player questions and conflict resolution
• Create a welcoming, social, fun-first environment
• Work directly with leadership on league growth and player retention
