SMT is seeking a Sports Events Operations Intern to support the events team in preparing, deploying, and managing technology at sporting events across North America and potentially around the world. This is a hands-on, physically active internship rather than a traditional office-based role. Work includes preparing event sites, setting up monitors and video boards, running cables, assisting with equipment installation, and loading, unloading, and tracking equipment. The intern may work long event days, including 10+ hour days, weekends, and holidays, and will travel frequently. The position is on-site in Jacksonville, Florida, averages 35–40+ hours per week, and includes travel for at least 75% of the internship. The spring-semester internship runs from mid-January through the end of April. Pay is $15.50 per hour, and SMT covers travel accommodations. The intern reports to the Director of Events Administration. The role offers hands-on learning in the preparation, planning, and deployment of technology at sporting events, particularly golf, tennis, and endurance sports.
