About The Position
The North Rutherford YMCA is seeking a passionate Sports Director to lead, grow, and elevate youth sports programming. This role is ideal for someone dedicated to youth development, teamwork, and creating high-quality sports experiences for children and families. The Sports Director will help bring organizational values to life both on and off the field.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 21
- 2–3 years of experience in sports programming, supervision, or administration
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to inspire staff and volunteers while keeping participants first
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and oversee youth sports programs from scheduling to game day
- Recruit, train, and support program staff, coaches, and volunteers
- Coordinate leagues, clinics, practices, and events across multiple locations
- Partner with marketing and center leadership to grow participation
- Communicate with families, handle schedules, and respond to program needs
- Manage program budgets, facilities, equipment, and safety protocols
