About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Sports & Recreation, the Sports Coordinator supports the planning and delivery of sports programs, seasonal activities, and community events. This position maintains athletic equipment and facilities, coordinates program logistics, and helps provide safe, engaging experiences for participants. Requirements

Recreation, parks, outdoor programming, special events or related programming
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lift equipment and perform moderate physical labor.
Availability to work evenings and weekends.
A consistent schedule will be established based on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

Act as liaison between YMCA and participants for athletic programs (i.e. communication, scheduling changes, mailings, etc.)
Oversee evening and weekend athletic programming.
Distribute equipment and information to coaches and participants as needed.
Assist the Sports and Recreation Director in the preparation of teams, schedules, clinics, camps, and special events.
Attend and assist with participant, staff, or organizational meetings as required.
Assist the Sports and Recreation Director in the applicant recruitment process.
Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff.
Act as referee for multiple YMCA sports leagues.
Perform field maintenance and set up equipment for games as needed.
All other duties as assigned
