About The Position

CBS Austin is seeking an experienced weekend sports anchor and reporter to cover the vibrant sports scene in Austin, which includes the Texas Longhorns, Austin FC, and Circuit of the Americas. The ideal candidate will be authentic, innovative, and bring fresh ideas to sports coverage. This role requires producing and reporting content across all platforms that is both informative and entertaining for a diverse audience. A 'digital first' reporting strategy and a passion for impactful storytelling are essential. The candidate must be capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment under deadline pressure. Strong writing, photography, and nonlinear editing skills are mandatory, as the position involves shooting and editing stories. Demonstrated ability to position content effectively on air and digital platforms is required. The schedule may need to be adjusted based on content center needs.

Requirements

At least 2 years of professional on-camera experience.
Strong shooting, writing, and video editing ability.
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferred.
Use social media to build a dedicated audience.
Demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original approaches to storytelling.
Photography/Video editing in Premiere (for broadcast and digital).
Adobe Creative Cloud.
Live-U operation.
High-level organizational skills.
