About The Position

CBS Austin is seeking an experienced weekend sports anchor and reporter to cover the vibrant sports scene in Austin, home to the Texas Longhorns, Austin FC, and Circuit of the Americas. The ideal candidate will be authentic, innovative, and bring fresh ideas to sports coverage across all platforms, aiming to produce content that is both informative and entertaining for a diverse audience. This role requires a 'digital first' reporting strategy, a passion for impactful storytelling, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively under deadline in a high-energy, creative environment. Strong writing, photography, and nonlinear editing skills are essential, as the position involves shooting and editing stories. Demonstrated ability to position content effectively on air and digital platforms is also required. The Sports Anchor/Reporter must be flexible with their schedule to meet content center needs.

Requirements

• Strong shooting, writing, and video editing ability.
• At least 2 years of professional on-camera experience.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferred.
• Proficiency in using social media to build a dedicated audience.
• Demonstrated ability to find original approaches to storytelling.
• Experience with Premiere for broadcast and digital video editing.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Experience with Live-U operation.
