About The Position

Play It Again Sports is a locally owned franchise that buys, sells, and trades new and used sporting goods equipment. It provides value in sporting and fitness equipment along with customer service in a clean and fun retail environment. The Sporting Goods Sales Associate helps customers find suitable products, handles sales and used-equipment purchases, and supports merchandising and store operations.

Requirements

Ability to work well as a team member, accept constructive feedback, and follow directions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
Ability to bend, rotate, and reach as customary in a sporting goods retail environment.

Nice To Haves

Prior sporting goods retail experience is preferred; the employer is willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly, identify their needs, and handle transactions professionally and enthusiastically.
Learn about sporting goods products, brands, and prices, and recommend products and explain their features and benefits.
Increase sales and customer satisfaction by suggesting additional items at the close of a sale.
Buy used sporting goods, reinforcing customers’ purchases and the store’s sales.
Price and ticket sporting goods according to pricing and buying guidelines.
Restock the store according to the merchandising plan.
Maintain store displays and follow housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures.
Develop proficiency with the computerized Point of Sale (POS) and sales tracking system.
