About The Position

Ground News is a news comparison platform that makes it easy to compare news sources, read between the lines of media bias, and break free from algorithms. In a world where political polarization and media distrust are at an all-time high, Ground News offers people a better way to stay informed and open-minded. Our mobile app, web app, and browser extension are home to a community of mindful readers who use our platform to see every side of a story and engage with news critically. Unlike most tech platforms, we don’t rely on algorithms to keep users on our platform to sell ads. We are supported by our readers who pay for a subscription to build a more nuanced understanding of the news, the world, and themselves.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in influencer marketing, creator partnerships, or digital marketing with hands-on experience managing campaigns end-to-end.
  • You’re naturally commercial. You enjoy the deal-making side of this work. This isn't a pure account management role; you need to be able to drive outcomes.
  • Genuine familiarity with how YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, podcasts, or newsletters work from a creator and audience perspective.
  • Data-driven mindset: you use metrics like ROAS, CPM, and conversion rates to evaluate performance and inform decisions.
  • Comfortable with negotiation: you know how to navigate pricing conversations, counter offers, and structure deals that work for both sides.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple campaigns and creator relationships.
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in-house at a direct-to-consumer brand running creator or influencer programs.
  • Background in performance marketing, subscription products, or audience growth: you understand what it takes to convert awareness into paying subscribers
  • Proven ability to learn new platforms and creator ecosystems quickly and develop a genuine point of view on what works.
  • Interest in media, politics, or media literacy. You genuinely care about what Ground News is building.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with creators, agencies, and their representatives across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Podcasts, and Newsletters.
  • Lead deal negotiations (pricing, terms, and contracts), balancing Ground News's performance targets with creator expectations.
  • Evaluate creators on audience quality, engagement authenticity, and fit with Ground News's mission.
  • Make confident go/no-go calls and drive deals to close: you know when to push, when to hold on price, and how to create urgency without burning the relationship.
  • Own campaign delivery from signed contract through post-launch review: briefs, timelines, approvals, and follow-through.
  • Develop tailored creator briefs that give clear performance direction while preserving the creator's authentic voice.
  • Coordinate with internal content and analytics teams to ensure campaigns are on-brand and set up to perform.
  • Track and report on campaign performance (impressions, clicks, installs, subscriptions, and ROAS) and translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Identify what's working and what isn't across your portfolio, and bring a hypothesis before escalating to leadership.
  • Work with the analytics team to build better reporting practices and continuously improve conversion across the creator funnel.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships with high-performing creators into longer-term or multi-platform partnerships.
  • Stay close to platform trends and creator dynamics so your strategy reflects how audiences actually consume content today.
  • Contribute to building playbooks and processes that make the team more efficient as we scale.
