About The Position
At Regions, the Credit Products Sponsor Finance Product Specialist conducts screening, underwriting, negotiation, documentation, and portfolio management of sponsor transactions within the Corporate bank. This role enhances the sponsor lending experience while serving as a dedicated point of contact for coverage partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Seven (7) years of underwriting experience in Leveraged Finance and/or Corporate Finance
- Ability to identify and voice issues
- Ability to manage evaluating multiple, time sensitive projects while under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized and detail-oriented
Nice To Haves
- Experience in deal underwriting and screening sponsor transactions including structuring, negotiation, and legal documentation
- Completion of a major corporate credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)
- Familiarity with following loan policy frameworks of a traditional bank or similar financial institution
Responsibilities
- Completes end-to-end underwriting, execution, and portfolio management for complex sponsor transactions
- Executes efficient and extensive due diligence and credit screening of sponsor financing opportunities
- Conducts structuring, underwriting, negotiation, closing, and documentation of transactions
- Leads communication with coverage and credit risk partners
- Ensures effective monitoring and servicing activities are completed for the portfolio
- Utilizes market knowledge of loan pricing, structuring, and sponsor driven financing solutions
- Aligns private equity clients’ needs with Regions’ risk appetite, while ensuring competitive positioning and disciplined client selectivity
- Mentors analysts and associate team members in Sponsor Credit Products
