This role is responsible for directing craft persons, foremen, and general foremen, with a requirement of having more than two general foremen direct reports. The position involves checking the adequacy of existing job/task methods and procedures, and providing appropriate, on-the-spot corrective action when needed. The Senior General Foreman will instruct journeymen in specific craft tasks, including safety procedures and techniques, and must be knowledgeable of other craft disciplines to ensure work coordination and prevent jurisdictional conflicts. Key responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, understanding job specifications, implementing Bechtel job procedures and work rules, and inspecting finished work for quality and completeness. The role also requires understanding the work scope, project priorities, and schedules, and ensuring planned work is completed on schedule. Identifying potential problems in a timely manner and taking quick remedial action when work deviates from drawings, specifications, code requirements, or accepted construction standards is crucial. Additionally, the Senior General Foreman must be familiar with project cost control procedures and committed to staying within established cost goals and unit rate standards, as well as ensuring accurate reports are submitted regarding time sheets, backcharges, quantity, and work status. Bechtel Construction Services reserves the right to assign jobs and tasks not specified.
