About The Position

The incumbent coordinates collateral exception activities on a portfolio of Residential and Consumer real estate secured loans. Responsibilities include property inspection exceptions, occupancy changes, property violation notices, collateral valuation, bill procurement/ payment, portfolio reporting and specific debt collection assignments.   • 0-2 years Banking experience required
  • 3-4 years Direct Customer Service experience in a Call Center environment or 0-2 with several of the preferred experiences required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree (AA) preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) preferred
  • 0-2 years Property & Preservation experience preferred
  • 0-2 years Default Servicing experience in advance stage collection, loss mitigation, or litigation preferred
  • 3-4 years Intermediate to Advanced Knowledge of bank applications (APERIO, MSP, Five 0, Signature, etc preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review weekly property inspection exceptions, documenting actions taken and identifying items requiring further action. Apply discretion where appropriate.
  • Review other collateral risk activity (violations, occupancy changes ) to determine whether action is needed. Prepare & present recommendations for remediation or no action with supporting documentation for approval. Use judgement as necessary.
  • Review and respond timely to assignments received via Department email, TASK, Intercom or other workflow.
  • Order /review REO refresh appraisals, make recommendations for charge off and write down activity as warranted by policy.
  • Perform all required debt collections activities on rotating assigned portfolios to include in and outbound calling and written communications and recommendations.
  • Pay / manage all approved property related expenses
  • Coordinate approved property related repairs, reviewing restoration bids, estimates and photos to ensure they are consistent with work requested and also comply with Webster Bank policy, Investor or Insurer fee schedules, guidelines or prior approved work order estimates. Ensure that excess fees have been appropriately approved prior to submitting for payment.
  • Place insurance on REO assets; ensure that utilities are turned on where applicable and that winterization and grass cuts are cycled in accordance with Webster Bank policy, Investor or Insurer guidelines.
  • Maintain strong internal and external working relationships with R & R team members and property management vendors, maintaining expertise applications needed to execute assigned responsibilities. Escalate vendor performance issues as needed.
  • Portfolio reporting: Gather materials and collaborate with colleagues to produce timely, accurate REO Monthly Reporting to include Trial Balance, Workstation activity, Listing/ Sales activity, Gains/Losses, Expenses, Charge off/Write down reviews, Occupancy changes, and other updates to marketing status of OREO properties]. Execute data and financial updates to all systems of record for proper management and accounting reporting.
