About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to safety best practices and regulations, monitoring all work performed, and providing training and quality control to crews. The Splicer will perform routine site field inspections, ensure teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines, and provide leadership and guidance to develop team members' skills. This position supervises splicing subcontractors and in-house splicers, reconciles work production tasks for invoicing, and recruits, trains, and mentors new crew members. The Splicer will positively motivate crews, especially during challenging conditions or when behind schedule, and conducts quality assurance inspections to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

5 plus years as a Fiber Splicer
Extensive splicing, cable prep, bonding & grounding and fiber testing/troubleshooting knowledge and experience
Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
High School Diploma or GED
Critical thinking skills
Conflict resolution skills
Good analytical skills with the ability to plan, predict, investigate, and find solutions
Strong work ethic, leads by example, and does what it takes to get the job done
Computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs
Excellent at interacting with crews and individuals
Extensive knowledge and experience in splicing fiber
Ability to communication with clarity at the frequencies required by management and customers
Ability to travel to multiple sites as required
Work independently with minimal supervision
Read and understand construction maps, drawings, splice diagrams/matrix

Responsibilities

Conducts quality assurance inspections during and after completion of work to ensure compliance to customer specific requirements
