Splicer/Cable Splicer Helper - (Stamford, CT)
About The Position
Eversource Energy is the largest Energy delivery company in New England, supporting 4.4 million Gas and Electric customers across CT, MA, and NH. This position involves performing duties indoors and outdoors, sometimes under adverse weather conditions, for extended periods. The role requires using mechanical skills to assist operations with materials, hand tools, and equipment for the installation and maintenance of cables and the underground system. Individuals will be required to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour during periods of trouble call assignment. This role is for a Regular worker type with 3 openings. Emergency Response is a part of every employee's role, requiring assistance during emergencies outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
- The ability to pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) and the physical agility assessment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and or maintain a valid CDL within six (6) months.
- Mechanical/Technical experience is required.
- Successful candidate must have the ability to complete the requirements of Splicer T.M.P. Training Merit Progression and to qualify as a Splicer at the end of the training period.
- Must have the ability to work emergency and planned overtime when the need exists.
- Must have a work history that demonstrates safe work habits.
Nice To Haves
- Candidates who currently hold a CDL-A are preferred.
- Splicing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
