About The Position

Eversource Energy is the largest Energy delivery company in New England, supporting 4.4 million Gas and Electric customers across CT, MA, and NH. This position involves performing duties indoors and outdoors, sometimes under adverse weather conditions, for extended periods. The role requires using mechanical skills to assist operations with materials, hand tools, and equipment for the installation and maintenance of cables and the underground system. The individual must be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour during trouble call assignments. This role is for regular full-time employment with 3 openings. Applicants requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
• The ability to pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) and the physical agility assessment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have the ability to obtain and or maintain a valid CDL within six (6) months.
• Mechanical/Technical experience is required.
• Successful candidate must have the ability to complete the requirements of Splicer T.M.P. Training Merit Progression and to qualify as a Splicer at the end of the training period.
• Must have the ability to work emergency and planned overtime when the need exists.
• Must have a work history that demonstrates safe work habits.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates who currently hold a CDL-A are preferred.
• Splicing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as required indoors and outdoors, at times under adverse weather conditions, for an extended period of time as required.
• Use mechanical skills to assist operations with material, hand tools, and equipment pertinent to the installation and maintenance of cables and the underground system.
• Be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour during periods of trouble call assignment.
• Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of the employee's role, which may include an Emergency Restoration assignment outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
