About The Position

Under general supervision to perform all work involved in distribution or transmission cable maintenance, construction and repair on primary and high tension cables when not extremely complicated; to do complicated jobs under supervision; to assist a Splicer - First Class; to direct the work of other employees helping him/her and to do related work as assigned.

Requirements

Evidence of successful completion of the requirements for graduation from High School or an Equivalency Diploma
At least one year's experience as a Splicer - Third Class or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of all Company cable and underground practices and standards
Knowledge of the general layout and characteristics of the underground distribution and transmission system
Ability to work on energized conductors
Possess a valid Commercial Drivers Class A
Maintain a valid Commercial Drivers Class A restricted (truck/trailer combo only - O restriction) license
Obtain the metal coil endorsement within 12 months of entering the classification
Evidence of physical fitness shall be required and at the Company's option must be demonstrated by medical examination by a doctor selected by the Company
Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Understand checking, phasing and phase rotation on polyphase circuits
Ability to connect polyphase transformer installations
