About The Position

The Fiber Splicer is responsible for splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks to support telecommunications infrastructure. Requirements

Experience with EXFO products (OTDR, Power Meter, VFL, Traffic Identifier, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret plans, splicing documents, and cable placement drawings
Experience with mass fusion and single fusion splice equipment
Experience using various types of enclosures and fiber, including 400D5, 450D6, PLP closures, dielectric cable, armored cable, ribbon fiber, loose tube, tight buffer, and ribbonized systems
Always meet established company standards of appearance and demeanor
Possess a positive attitude, works well with other company employees and management, and is driven to provide excellent customer service
Willing to assist with other job duties, including cable placement or general labor, when required
Possesses a valid driver's license, own transportation, and a clean driving record
Must be authorized to work in Canada

Responsibilities

Perform fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting on telecommunications networks
Read and interpret splice documents, placing maps, and construction drawings
Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables and related equipment
Conduct fiber testing using OTDRs, power meters, VFLs, and other testing equipment
Complete fiber splicing in various enclosure types and cable configurations
Assist with network construction, upgrades, and maintenance activities
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards
Project related travel is required
