About The Position

This is a time-limited, one-year position for a Spiritual Health Resident. The resident will participate as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team, providing spiritual care to patients and families. The role involves continuous collaboration with educators, team members, and other healthcare professionals to foster an environment of care, healing, and professional development. Learning activities include reflection groups, individual consultations, and didactics totaling at least 100 hours per unit. The resident will also be responsible for leading worship services at each site and must understand and comply with Spiritual Health and CPE policies, as well as applicable Emory Healthcare policies.

Requirements

  • One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • MDiv or other Master's degree in theology or minimum education needed for board eligibility by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or its strategic partners (NAJC, NACC, CASC/ACSS) for Associate certification or full Board certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Ordination, license or endorsement by an ecclesiastical body or specialized spiritual/philosophical/religious group preferred.
  • ACPE CPE unit preferred.
