About The Position

This is a two-year, time-limited position for a Spiritual Health CCSH Fellow. The fellow will participate as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team, providing spiritual care to patients and families in medical specialties focusing on chronic illness and pain. These specialties include Winship Cancer, Palliative Care, Staff Support, Critical Care, and Brain Health. The role involves participating in a research agenda and collaborating with educators, team members, and other healthcare professionals to foster an environment of care, healing, and professional development. A key aspect of the fellowship is engaging in the learning and practice of CBCT (Cognitive Behavioral Change Therapy), developing a personalized certification pathway, and learning to implement the CCSH (Compassionate Care and Spiritual Health) interventional approach through individual study, clinical practice, and group work. The goal for most fellows is to become a registered CCSH interventionist through Spiritual Health at Emory Healthcare and Emory's collaboration with the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory, rather than through ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education). The fellow must understand and comply with Spiritual Health policies and applicable Emory Healthcare policies.
