About The Position

SUMMARY OF POSITION In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Spiritual Care Assistant assists the Director of Spiritual Care with providing the residents, families and staff with spiritual and religious activities, programs and services. The programs support the spiritual needs of both religious and lay residents. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Training and/or experience in carrying out spiritual programs and services
  • Must be eligible to perform eucharistic duties within the Catholic religion/at mass
  • Must have sincere desire to work with older adults.
  • Must understand the spiritual, social, psychological and recreational needs of older adults on a continuum of care campus and must be able to plan and organize spiritual activities geared to these needs.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm and must be able to work effectively with people.
  • Must possess strong organization and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess the ability to bend, stoop, and reach at different angles.
  • Walk, stand and sit intermittently during the day.
  • Is required to be constantly alert for possible injuries to residents.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
