Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Requirements

Masters Degree in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral care, or related religious studies
Completion of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education
Ecclesiastical Endorsement and Board Certification as a Chaplain
Certification by NACC or APC
3 years experience as a Chaplain
Acute Care Hospital setting
Actively involved in faith community

Nice To Haves

5 years experience as a Chaplain
Previous experience in the management and education of chaplains, volunteers and students

Responsibilities

The director is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Department.
This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing strategic and operational plans, measuring outcomes, and creating an environment of associate engagement and continuous improvement.
The Spiritual and Pastoral Care Director is responsible for the provision of chaplaincy and pastoral care, ministering to the spiritual, emotional, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients, families, and associates.
The director is responsible for developing working relationships with the faith communities of Harker Heights to ensure that clergy of all faiths can participate in the healing ministry.
As a Catholic healthcare ministry, this position will coordinate the provision of sacramental services for Catholic patients with local Roman Catholic clergy.
