About The Position

MKTG is seeking Brand Educators to engage consumers about spirits & beer brands during events across Vermont. These roles are flexible, fulfilling, and fun, requiring individuals who are naturally social, capable of mobile reporting, capturing quality photos, managing a company-issued credit card, uploading receipts, and traveling to various event locations. Events can take place at diverse venues such as local shops, large bars/nightclubs, grocery stores, spirits retailers, or stadiums. Brand Ambassadors/Educators (BE) are brand enthusiasts responsible for educating consumers on high-profile brands during on-premise, off-premise, and experiential special events. They must deliver safe and unique experiences, helping consumers make informed brand decisions by actively engaging them at the point of purchase and experience to reinforce and increase brand awareness. BEs embody and humanize the brands they represent, building consumer trust through product knowledge and education. In addition to participating in promotional events, BEs are expected to complete regular online trainings on client brands. They must develop an extensive knowledge of category, product distillation/production, and brand, passing exams and showcasing their knowledge through a 2-3 minute presentation. This is an Occasional Employment Position, meaning assignment quantity is not guaranteed. BEs must adhere to all MKTG Policies & Procedures and the NA Diageo Marketing Code.

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Must be proficient & accessible to using Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint programs
  • Possesses the ability to work comfortably within retail outlets (convenient stores)
  • Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to carry heavy trays, boxes, objects
  • Excellent communication & people skills
  • Able to maintain a pleasant disposition & demeanor under stress
  • Previous promotional/marketing experience
  • Responsible, reliable, punctual
  • Clean, neat appearance
  • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere
  • Valid to work as an employee in the US
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Must have your own method of transportation
  • English language proficiency, both written & verbal

Nice To Haves

  • 20 hours of daytime and/or evening availability per week is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in management of events
  • Complete event setup & breakdown
  • Initiate and engage in quality conversation with LDA consumers about select brand preferences, options & recommendations
  • Distribute premium items as directed
  • Trouble-shoot challenges during events
  • Establish relationships with account staff (bar staff & retail store employees)
  • Participate in regularly scheduled training meetings, calls, workshops & exercises
  • Communicate and work closely with Event Managers, Associates & Brand Ambassador peers
  • Observe, report and provide insightful feedback in event recaps in a timely fashion
  • Learn, understand, and adhere to company operating procedures, policies, as well as local
  • Actively engage and educate consumers at the point of experience, purchase, and consumption
  • Humanize the brands and build trust of consumers through education
  • Lead consumers through a sampling journey of featured product(s) (where legal and within local legal limitations and as per policy)
  • Regularly complete digital training for market brand and programs as directed
  • Adapt to tech platforms to receive and input information necessary to represent the Diageo brands
  • Arrive to events on time, in appropriate attire as specified by market team, and be prepared to execute promotions as outlined in program standards
  • Distribute Diageo premiums to consumers
  • Follow Responsible Server Guidelines and report Guideline violations
  • Pre-merchandise accounts with Diageo point-of-sale (POS)
  • Pay for bar spend or product via company issued debit card
  • Pick up or accept delivery of promotional materials from Event Team
  • Ensure proper care and return of company property (i.e. uniforms, event materials, etc.)
  • Complete post-event recap (ERF) in MKTG reporting website
  • Take digital event photos and contribute to market’s social media account
  • Understand how Client brand differs from competitors and report on competitive activity in market
  • Maintain appropriate appearance for consumer engagement
  • Follow company policy and procedures
