About The Position

The Spire Bar Bartender position is a part-time role at the iconic Arizona Biltmore, a luxury resort in Phoenix. The Spire Bar, added in 2021, is a lively outdoor bar and lounge with 250 seats, serving cocktails, wines, and culinary creations. The bartender will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. This role requires significant menu knowledge of both beverage and food offerings.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of Bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant
  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card
  • TIPS Certified
  • Team player
  • Very organized
  • Great at multitasking
  • Excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an upscale / luxury dining environment, preferred
  • Hotel / resort experience, preferred
  • Experience with POS systems - Micros or Agilysis is a plus
  • Title IV Certification, preferred
  • ServSafe Certified, preferred
  • CPR / First Aid Certified, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
  • Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Check guests for proper identification.
  • Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest and personnel guests including those served by other Servers to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed in order to balance all moneys.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained.
  • Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
  • Lock up and store all beverage, food and other items, deposit cash drops and secure bank.
  • Attend mandatory meetings.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
