About The Position

The Dalton, Ga plant has an opening for a Spiral Technician. While reporting to the shift supervisor you will work in production for our tube and core division and be responsible for working in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent knowledge of all LOTO requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assisting and supporting the carpet yarn line operator and other members of the carpet yarn line crew.
• Learning and performing all required machine and support equipment set ups.
• Operating, setting up, and troubleshooting equipment as required.
• Operating cutter for carpet yarn tubes.
• Performing machine preventative maintenance on various pieces of equipment related to the carpet yarn line.
• Operating machine on a substitute basis.
• Reporting and tracking production information - scrap, machine efficiency, machine down time, paper usage.
• Assisting other crew members with set ups, packaging aspects, quality requirements, and all other related production specs.
• Documenting and maintaining machine log.
• Reporting of quality measurements and metrics.
• Identifying cost savings opportunities and communicating to management.
