Spinner Operator (1st Shift)
About The Position
The Spinner Operator (1st Shift) position at Norris Cylinder Company is responsible for performing a variety of operational functions in the production, inspection, and distribution of products. This role requires adherence to safety policies, quality standards (including ISO), and company work rules. The operator must maintain good housekeeping, demonstrate positive work ethics, and follow procedural instructions for each job assignment. Key responsibilities include performing quality assurance checks, meeting production standards, and ensuring all work is completed according to specifications.
Requirements
- Possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
- Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
- Working knowledge of control gauges used in Spinner inspection.
- Knowledge of equipment set-up procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Comply with the work rules and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
- Display appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings, providing a positive work environment with co-workers.
- Refer to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
- Perform any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
- Assure that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
- Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time.
- Operate Spinner machine.
- Change out Spinner tooling.
- Complete Statistical Process Control Charts for product being spun.
- Identify folded necks in cylinders and scrap accordingly.
- Complete written reports.
- Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
