About The Position

This position operates Spice Room machines including Kettle Room, Hoppers, Slurry Mixers, Kettles, and Defrost Mixers. The operator is responsible for setting up, running, and safely operating these machines, ensuring all guarding is in place before starting and that machines are cleaned and flushed at the end of the shift. This role involves verifying ingredients, recipes, and production setups, transporting ingredients and spices, monitoring spice inventory, and maintaining product quality forms and logs. The operator must be able to work independently in a hot environment and complete all necessary paperwork. Additionally, this role includes training new associates and operating a forklift to retrieve ingredients from the warehouse. The operator also provides leadership, guidance, and training to Spice Room Associates.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with others orally.
  • Must be able to read and understand English in order to read recipes.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating Spice Room machines including Kettle Room, Hoppers, Slurry Mixers, Kettles, and Defrost Mixers.
  • Experience with forklift operation.
  • Experience in a hot working environment.
  • Experience maintaining logs and product quality forms.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Spice Room machines including Kettle Room, Hoppers, Slurry Mixers, Kettles, and Defrost Mixers.
  • Set up, run, and safely operate Spice Room machines.
  • Verify guarding is in place before starting machines.
  • Ensure machines are cleaned and flushed at the end of the shift.
  • Verify information for daily production runs and brine mixture locations.
  • Retrieve Production Set-up from Production Manager.
  • Obtain samples and have them reviewed by the lab.
  • Record ingredients used and PH, sugar, and salt ranges.
  • Maintain product quality forms and checklists for the QA Lab, including the Spice Room Log.
  • Monitor production line to ensure spices are transported correctly.
  • Work independently in a hot environment.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Transport spice to the line.
  • Monitor spice inventory and retrieve spices from the warehouse when needed.
  • Maintain all Spice Logs (Ingredients, Temperatures, Gallons).
  • Conduct training of new and existing associates.
  • Operate a forklift to retrieve ingredients from the warehouse.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to Spice Room Associates.
