We serve the Refining, Gas & Oil, Pipeline, Renewable, Chemical, and Biopharm Industries. Mangan is customer-centric and committed to client needs, resulting in a high rate of repeat business. We are an employee-owned company offering growth opportunities. We are seeking an SPI/SPPID User for our Sugar Land location. The ideal candidate will possess basic knowledge of SPI and SPPID, and potentially have experience in Instrumentation/Control Systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of basic experience with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, CAD applications or other software used for data implementation
  • Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience with SPI modules (Engineering and/or Design)
  • Able to exhibit strong working knowledge of either the Engineering or the Design modules with a basic working knowledge of the other module
  • A strong understanding of P&ID’s, simple wiring diagrams, simple Loop drawings, and specification sheets; and their implementation in SPI
  • Basic understanding of SPI ESL layouts and macros
  • Exhibits a positive attitude, shows initiative, self-motivation, and accepts direction from qualified sources; demonstrates dependability, commitment and involvement to Mangan projects.
  • Shows respect for all fellow co-workers. Interacts well, cooperates with and gives assistance to team members.
  • Work meets or exceeds the company’s quality standard of acceptability; has the ability to manage multiple tasks and project changes in an organized manner.
  • Displays the ability to perform, retain, and share the technical skills required for the SPI classification.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of Loops and Tags, panels and cables, connections, spec sheets, and Loop drawing generation and formatting into a readable document
  • Individual Tag Data sheet implementation and Tag Process Data implementation
  • Use of browser views, sorts, and filters
  • Batch Loop and Tag creation
  • Batch Wiring connection and Loop generation
  • Creation of DCS/PLC/SIS panels
  • Calculation for Flow Elements, Control Valves, etc.
  • Creation of browser views, sorts, and filters
  • Basic understanding of revision archiving for SPI documents
  • Placing equipment, piping, and instruments in SPP&ID
  • Placing labels in SPP&ID
  • Using the Properties Grid in SPP&ID
  • Manipulating graphics in SPP&ID
  • Placing assemblies in SPP&ID
  • Using Filters to optimize work in SPP&ID
  • Working with the Engineering Data Editor in SPP&ID
  • Checking design and data consistency in SPP&ID
  • Creating symbols and labels in SPP&ID
