About The Position
This is a Speech Therapist position in an Inpatient Rehabilitation setting. The assignment requires proficiency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) in radiology without supervision. There is a possibility of referrals for outpatient care. Documentation will be done using Meditech for inpatient and paper and pencil for outpatient. Training in EMR documentation and orientation to the rehab area will be provided.
Requirements
- Active State of HI license in the appropriate discipline.
- Hawaii License must be obtained by the start of the assignment.
- Acute care experience.
- Independent and proficient in completion of Modified Barium Swallow Studies in radiology without supervision by a radiologist.
- Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably with SNF level or Rehab hospital experience.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to complete MBS study independently.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with EMR - Epic from November 1, 2025.
- Experience with Meditech computerize documentation.
- Experience with paper and pencil outpatient documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) independently in radiology without supervision.
- Complete documentation using Meditech for inpatient and paper and pencil for outpatient.
- Provide speech therapy services in an acute care and SNF facility.
- Potentially float to other units/departments or another facility depending on census and staffing.
- Adhere to HMC dress code (scrubs or per policy).
