About The Position

This is a Speech Therapist position in an Inpatient Rehabilitation setting. The role requires a candidate to be proficient in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) in radiology without supervision. Experience in acute care and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) is necessary. There is a possibility of referrals for outpatient care. Documentation will be done using Meditech for inpatient and paper/pencil for outpatient. Training in EMR documentation and orientation to the rehab area will be provided.

Requirements

• Active State of HI license in the appropriate discipline.
• Hawaii License by start of assignment.
• Acute care experience.
• Independent and proficient in completion of Modified Barium Swallow Studies in radiology without supervision by a radiologist.
• Minimum 2 years experience, preferably with SNF level or Rehab hospital experience.
• BLS/BCLS certification.
• ASHA certification.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with EMR - Epic.
• Experience with Meditech computerize documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) independently in radiology without supervision.
• Provide Speech Therapy services in an acute care and SNF setting.
• Document patient care using Meditech for inpatient and paper/pencil for outpatient.
• Potentially handle outpatient referrals.
• Float to other units/departments or facilities depending on census and staffing.
• Complete MBS study independently.
