About The Position

Powerback is hiring a Speech Therapist Clinical Fellow to provide rehabilitation services that help patients communicate, swallow, and diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. The therapist is responsible for effective and efficient service delivery, designing treatment plans, and working with patients to carry them out. The role involves individualizing programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance speech and communication abilities; adapting to varied patient needs and work settings; collaborating with peers and making referrals when appropriate; and teaching patients and caregivers skills that support independence and productivity. The position is part of Powerback’s rehabilitation and wellness services across settings including skilled nursing centers, assisted and independent living facilities, outpatient clinics, and home-based care. The posting lists an hourly salary range of $44.00–$50.00.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or a similarly titled area consistent with and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed as required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rehabilitation services to help patients communicate, swallow, and diminish or remediate disorders or deficits.
• Design treatment plans and work with patients to carry them out.
• Develop individualized programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance patients’ speech and communication abilities.
• Adapt to patient needs and varied work settings, including tasks such as cleaning equipment and reporting to meetings.
• Collaborate with peers and make referrals to help patients receive appropriate care.
• Train patients and caregivers in skills that promote independence and productivity.
