About The Position

At Powerback, Speech Therapists help patients communicate, swallow, and diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. The role is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services, including designing treatment plans and working with patients to carry them out. The therapist addresses each patient as an individual and develops programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance speech and communication abilities. The work may involve different patient needs and settings, cleaning equipment, attending meetings, collaborating with peers, making referrals, and training patients and caregivers to promote independence and productivity.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or a similarly titled area consistent with and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed as required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rehabilitation services effectively and efficiently.
• Design treatment plans and work with patients to carry them out.
• Develop programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance patients’ speech and communication abilities.
• Adapt to patient needs and work across varied settings.
• Clean equipment and report to meetings as part of the workday.
• Collaborate with peers and make referrals when patients need additional care.
• Train patients and caregivers in skills that promote independence and productivity.
• Help patients communicate and swallow, and diminish or remediate disorders or deficits.
