Under the direction of the Admissions & Release Committee, this role involves screening, assessing, and identifying students with communication disorders that adversely affect their educational progress. The Speech Therapist will develop and provide direct and indirect services within the student’s educational setting, based on established IEP goals and objectives. This position requires consultation for effective delivery of speech-language services, coordination of assessment and therapy materials, and development/implementation of innovative programs. The role also includes developing and maintaining resources and staff development programs, providing consultation to school personnel, attending ARC meetings, and coordinating the development and implementation of communication disorder plans. The Speech Therapist will serve as a resource for teachers of students with hearing and visual impairments, monitor contractual audiology services, set up treatment calendars in the Medicaid Billing System, and complete service logs for Medicaid Billing. Additionally, documenting pupil progress, maintaining records, and performing other duties as assigned are key responsibilities. A requirement for this role is the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at a novice level of proficiency.
