About The Position
Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to provide therapy that helps patients maximize their speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. The role contributes to patient recovery and well-being by delivering and documenting care, communicating patient progress or problems to supervisors and other team members, assisting with scheduling and posting charges, and instructing patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of a master’s-level Speech Language Pathology program accredited by the Education Standards Board, or whose practice meets ASHA certification requirements.
- Meet the education and experience requirements for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology.
- At least six months of speech therapist or speech-language pathologist experience working with adult and geriatric populations.
- Current, unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where services are rendered.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy to maximize patients’ speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
- Communicate patient progress or problems to the supervisor and other team members.
- Assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records.
- Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
- Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
