About The Position

This role involves assessing referred patients, planning and administering Speech Therapy intervention plans, scheduling treatments, recording treatment information, and instructing students to assist in patient treatment and rehabilitation. The Speech Pathologist will also provide instruction to patients, families, and hospital staff, ensuring high-quality and safe patient care. The position requires completing all necessary documentation, assisting in the efficient return of patients to independence, and maintaining cost-effective treatment plans. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the orientation of new employees and volunteers, ensuring courtesy to all associated with the hospital, adhering to safety standards, and meeting department objectives. A key aspect is demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.

Requirements

  • California Speech Therapy license required, or a temporary California Speech Therapist license with a commitment to obtain a permanent California Speech Therapy license within one year from date of hire required.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence required.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

Responsibilities

  • Completes all necessary documentation related to patient treatment.
  • Assists in efficient and effective return of patient to the highest degree of independence possible.
  • Maintains a cost-effective treatment plan.
  • Assists in orientation of new employees and volunteers.
  • Ensures that person who work for, are serviced by, or associated with, the Hospital receive the highest degree of courtesy possible.
  • Adheres to established Hospital safety standards.
  • Ensures department objectives are met.
