About The Position

Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children's Minnesota is one system serving kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics and seven rehabilitation sites. The Speech-Language Pathology department specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children with a range of diagnoses from cleft palate to voice disorders. In addition they also evaluate and treat children who may have difficulties with speech, cognitive-linguistic skills, feeding and swallowing, and language. Care is provided at the following facilities: Minneapolis, St. Paul, Woodbury, Roseville, and Eden Prairie. This is an inpatient position based in Minneapolis, with the potential to float to other hospital sites depending on patient census and demand.

Requirements

Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree from an accredited speech language pathology program
Certificate of Clinical Competence or in Clinical Fellowship Year
Minnesota Department of Health license
BLS Certification

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation and provision of speech therapy services to children
Accompanying written documentation and verbal communication needed to administer care including provider orders
Provides patient/family/caregivers, staff, and student training
Provides a safe, clean environment
Provides proper care for departmental equipment
Manages time effectively and promotes patient/family, provider, and intradepartmental satisfaction
