About The Position

This role provides home-based, direct therapy intervention and consultative services to patients. The patient population may comprise children ages birth to three through Indiana's Early Intervention Program, First Steps. Services are provided in collaboration with the family's natural environment via evidence-based treatments and early intervention practices that address speech, language, and feeding/swallowing development in accordance with the established Individualized Family Service Plan. The role involves completing developmental assessments and referring for medical or other professional services that may be necessary for the habilitation or rehabilitation of children with communication or language disorders and delays in development of communication skills. Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in speech pathology; or, if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires current licensure in the state of Indiana.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • May require credentialing for certification as an early interventionist.
  • Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
