About The Position

The role of the Speech Pathologist reports to the Physical Medicine Manager. This position is responsible for the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language problems that cause interference with normal communication and swallowing.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited speech language master’s program
  • CCC-SLP licensure in Arkansas
  • If a new graduate, must complete criteria for application for the provisional Speech Pathology license and the clinical fellowship year [CFY] plan within 30 days of eligibility (eligibility begins as of hire date)
  • New graduate must practice under the supervision of a licensed speech pathologist while completing the CFY as an employee of Washington Regional
  • CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a speech language pathologist

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluation of patient status and implement appropriate plan of care
  • Ensure timely completion of required documentation
  • Communicate the patient’s status with all necessary members of the patients care team and coordinate care plan
  • Communicate with physicians, or their staff, to coordinate appropriate care
