About The Position

The Speech Language Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive language, communication, and oral-motor/feeding assessment and intervention services for students. This role also participates in delivering an educational program aimed at allowing each student to attain their highest level of self-sufficiency. Identifies instructional delivery needs and takes steps to seek and receive instructional support. Attends specific instructional strategy training activities. Demonstrates competency in both group and individual Speech/Language Therapy and feeding activities. Identifies his/her management needs and seeks help in gaining a working command of the elements and techniques of classroom management. Provides screening and/or complete evaluation of communication and oral-motor/feeding needs of students. Develops specific language, communication and feeding plans for use with students as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university Speech Language Therapy program.
  • Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an Educational Specialist School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12.
  • Current and valid CPR and First Aid certification (will provide training).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Speech Therapist in a Special Education setting, using principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis, is preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with a pediatric population preferred.
