About the Facility – St. Stephen's Indian School St. Stephen's Indian School is a K-12 school servicing the educational needs of the St. Stephen's community. They receive funding from the Bureau of Indian Education, while supplemented by the State of Wyoming. They stand committed to teaching their students the skills they need to succeed in today's world while strengthening their ties to Native American culture and traditions. Services shall be provided 4 times a week, 7 hours a day, 16 weeks throughout the school year and coordinated with the school. Service may occur using a hybrid work schedule. One week per month shall be on-site to allow for assessments and measurements. The remaining weeks per month may be remote. Facility Address: 128 Mission Rd, St. Stephens, WY 82524

Requirements

Shall possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Speech-Language Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Education attendance and/or degrees shall be from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
5 years of experience providing speech-language therapy services in a school setting.
Experience must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to independently perform the work as required by the statement of work, to include applicable reports, testing, and evaluations under IEPs and IDEA.
Security Clearance. Must pass a background investigation and security clearance.

Responsibilities

Perform speech/language therapy for all students referred for evaluation during the school year.
Attend initial placement/multidisciplinary team committee meetings for students to be evaluated.
Meet with and advise the special education and classroom teacher in matters regarding the continuous assessment, evaluation and implementation of speech therapy programs for individual students and will meet with individual students on a regular basis to provide suggestions for carryover of therapy strategies into the home when necessary.
Assess student's communication skills (e.g., articulation, language fluency, voice, etc.) for the purpose of determining their speech and language deficits and developing recommendations.
Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel, and/or outside professionals to provide requested information, develop plans for services, and/or make recommendations.
Instruct students to implement goals for remediation of speech and language deficits.
Participate in meetings: IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student's functional goals.
Prepare documentation (e.g., evaluations, observations, progress, contacts with parents, teachers, and outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information.
Present information on various topics related to the area of professional expertise or the purpose of communicating information and gaining feedback on treatment issues.
Research resources and methods (i.e., intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) to determine an appropriate approach for students' speech and language services.
Screen students to determine assessments according to laws regarding minority non-discriminatory practices.
