About The Position

West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Temporary Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Clinical Supervisor in the West Liberty University Speech and Hearing Clinic. This position is a temporary staff position. The role involves educating audiology and speech-language pathology undergraduate and graduate student clinicians, providing guidance on assessment and treatment plans, and fostering an educational environment supportive of the department’s mission. The position also requires participation in research, service to the program, and maintaining student and patient records in compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Communication Sciences and Disorders is required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) is required
  • Current WV license in speech-language pathology and is within good standing with the West Virginia Board of Examiners in Speech-Language and Audiology is required
  • Familiarity with CAA accreditation standards
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm to engage in scholarship and professional development opportunities specific to the area of clinical education
  • Ability to exhibit knowledge and skills in the areas of evidence-based models of care, inter-professional education, critical thinking as it pertains to the clinical teaching-learning environment, and clinical teaching models
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical advising and mentoring of students
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology appropriately
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successfully passing a background screening report is required for final employment.

Responsibilities

  • Educating audiology and speech-language pathology undergraduate and graduate student clinicians
  • Provide education based on current best practices for speech-language pathology services
  • Provide guidance for developing assessment and treatment plans, counseling, SOAP notes, treatment materials, etc.
  • Developing and executing a line of evidence-based research that results in dissemination of knowledge
  • Completing service to the program, college, university and our profession
  • Recording and analyzing assessment data regarding student achievement
  • Document and track student clinical competencies
  • Maintain student clinician files in compliance with FERPA
  • Maintain clinic patient files in compliance with HIPAA
  • Participation in department and clinic meetings as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Chair and/or Director of Clinical Education of CSD
