About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring passionate and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for full-time, school-based positions in the Portsmouth, Virginia area for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an in-person role within Portsmouth Public Schools. The position may involve travel between multiple schools, with mileage reimbursement available. Ampersand Therapy is a small, woman and therapist-run company committed to empowering specialists and serving students.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Virginia SLP State License (or eligible to obtain prior to start date).
• Familiarity with IDEA, IEP process, and school documentation systems preferred.

Nice To Haves

• School-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech-language assessments and therapy.
• Develop and document Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with the Special Education team and families.
