About The Position

HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide in-person services to a K–12 student population throughout Kent County Public Schools. This position begins with the 2026–2027 school year (August 24, 2026) and offers the opportunity to work within a smaller school district known for its collaborative, student-centered approach. The speech therapist will provide speech/language/feeding & swallowing services to the pediatric population age 0-21 with developmental, neurological, and medical based disorders in a school setting. This position performs highly responsible work that will promote quality patient care and efficiency. The speech therapist is responsible for planning and administering evaluations, treatment plans, consults, screenings, parent education and promotes the overall health of the patient. The speech therapist will also collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including physicians, psychologists, therapists, BCBAs, school staff, and parents to provide holistic services. In addition, this position requires flexibility with scheduled hours as the company continues to thrive and grow.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an ASHA accredited Speech Therapy program
  • Current State Speech Therapist license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA when applicable
  • Current CPR certification
  • Efficient problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills and time management skills

  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles, techniques, materials and equipment in pediatric speech therapy.
  • Ability to evaluate a patient’s speech therapy needs and communicate the patient’s needs to the legal guardian and/or appropriate parties involved in the patient’s care.
  • Ability to communicate with a high degree of written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CPT & ICD 10 coding procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of speech therapy principles and practices.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of computer programs (EMRs)

Nice To Haves

  • The job is minimally physical and requires light lifting and set up for training events.
  • It also requires contribution to facility upkeep, e.g.: emptying trash containers, throwing trash in dumpster, etc.
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data
  • Must have ability to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper
  • Must have reliable transportation or be public transportation savvy and be willing and able to travel between different job sites

Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled speech therapy treatment plans in accordance with physician orders and by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
  • Adheres to state requirements for supervision of SLPAs and Clinical Fellows to provide services with the highest care standards
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment/ follow up programs.
  • Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
  • Maintains patient records confidentially.
  • Records treatment charges daily and completes documentation in accurate and timely manner.
  • Complies with the applicable State Speech Therapy Practice Act, codes and regulations
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintains clean work area, clean treatment rooms and requests needed supplies.
  • Maintains professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and other professionals as it relates to collaboration of care for the patient.
  • Keeps regular clinic hours as approved by Manager.
  • Directs all patient scheduling matters through the front desk coordinator.
  • Attends meetings as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
