About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. The role integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice. The position is at Lafayette Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital serving patients recovering from conditions including strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma, and complex orthopedic conditions.

Requirements

Current and valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Current BLS certification from an approved provider.
Demonstrate understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
Apply age-specific standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Demonstrate competency in providing care according to established standards.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
Leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.

Nice To Haves

Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, Clinical Fellowship Year status, or equivalent.
Two years of experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting.
