About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and driven clinician to join our acute care team as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Grapevine, Texas. This PRN role is ideal for therapists who enjoy fast-paced environments, critical thinking, and daily collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The position requires weekend availability and involves working in a Level 3 NICU, as well as medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry, and specialty units.

Requirements

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association or eligibility for Certification pending professional experience required.
Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.
Acute care experience, minimum one year required
Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

NICU experience (Level 3)
Competency with MBSS, strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans and deliver skilled interventions for patients in medical-surgical, ICU, telemetry and specialty units
Participate in interdisciplinary discussions and make recommendations regarding NPO status, diet levels and instrumental assessments
Document timely and accurately in the electronic medical record per hospital and regulatory standards
Completing patient/family and staff education related to communication, cognition and swallowing, as appropriate
Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives within our team
