About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing speech, language, cognitive, voice, and dysphagia services for patients across the lifespan in inpatient and outpatient settings. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, provides patient and caregiver education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders
Must hold appropriate certifications and licensures
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Speech Language Therapy field
Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer systems
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and electronic formats

Nice To Haves

Ability to perform video swallow studies strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Perform speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing evaluations and treatments according to established standards of care
Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient progress and goals
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation staff, patients, and caregivers to support optimal patient outcomes
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, home programs, and safety recommendations
Complete accurate and timely documentation, billing, and communication in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
Maintain equipment, infection prevention standards, required licensure, and continuing education requirements
Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement activities, and program development initiatives
Promote a professional, collaborative, and patient-centered environment consistent with OMC values
