Requirements

Master's Degree Speech Language Pathology Required Or Other Post-Baccalaureate degree recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Required
SLP Experience with adult population, acute care hospital-based, inpatient setting.
SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Required Or SLP-I - Speech Language Pathology Intern Texas Speech Language Pathology Intern License Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem-solving ability; Ability to teach others.
Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

SLP - Speech Language Pathology Texas Speech Language Pathology License Upon Hire Preferred
Strongly prefer CCC – Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP

Responsibilities

Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
