About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist position at Cartersville Outpatient Rehab is a full-time role responsible for performing patient assessments, developing effective treatment plans, and providing speech therapy services. This role involves interdisciplinary communication, patient education, and accurate documentation. The position requires adherence to established policies and standards, including timely documentation and proper charge capture. The therapist is expected to engage in continuing education and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Georgia license and American Speech / Language Association Certification
  • Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Masters in Communication Disorders
  • CFY will be considered.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to be flexible and dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Performs appropriate patient assessments resulting in an effective treatment plan.
  • Reassesses patients at appropriate intervals of time demonstrating the ability to observe treatment effect and modify the plan of care as indicated.
  • Involves the patient and/or family in the assessment process and the formation of the care plan.
  • Provides care in accordance with physician’s orders.
  • Demonstrates appropriate case management to ensure quality of care and best patient outcome.
  • Communicates appropriately to physicians, nurses, case managers, and other members of the health care team to ensure care is collaborative and appropriate.
  • Assesses and documents patient outcomes criteria at the initial and discharge evaluations (all shoulder, back, incontinence, and anodyne).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of speech therapy modalities / treatments and performs correctly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and competency in using equipment pertinent to providing speech therapy services.
  • Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Includes the family in teaching as appropriate.
  • Documentation meets current standards and policies.
  • Documentation is legible.
  • No inappropriate abbreviations are used.
  • Documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Medical Records are closed as per policy.
  • Time is adequately documented in the assessments and daily treatment notes.
  • Each charge bill adequately reflects all services provided.
  • Demonstrates self-growth as a professional therapist.
  • Engages in continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
