About The Position

Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our collaborative rehabilitation team. As part of our interdisciplinary care team, you'll play an essential role in helping residents achieve greater independence and improve their overall quality of life while working in a supportive environment that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional growth. Every day, you'll help residents improve communication, swallowing, cognition, and functional independence while building lasting relationships with patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Current California Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive speech-language and swallowing evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for communication, cognition, voice, and dysphagia
  • Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans to maximize outcomes
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, home programs, communication strategies, and swallowing safety
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate resident care
  • Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and rehabilitation meetings
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide staff education and in-service training as needed
  • Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFY) and student clinicians in accordance with state regulations, when applicable
