About The Position

Reporting to the Primary Health Manager, within the context of a client and family centered care model, in accordance with established standards of professional practice, and the vision, mission and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultation services to children (birth to entry into kindergarten) with speech and language delays and disorders.

Requirements

  • Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies for youth &families based on best practice
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to adapt to and implement change
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health affecting vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of speech and language development/disorders and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of resources available to 0-5 population and caregivers in urban area
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of needs of young children and social and environmental factors
  • Ability to work with young children individually and in small groups.
  • Demonstrates care for and with clients and families
  • Registered/eligible with SK Assoc. of SLPs and Audiologists (SASLPA)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and training with the Hanen Program is preferred.
